FAQ
Do you recommend Pet Insurance on our new puppy?
Absolutely, the vet industry has changed dramatically as old school vets are being replaced with vet chains. This means that pricing for basic and common surgeries has skyrocketed. We do not recommend this breed if you do not wish to get coverage. No breeder covers breathing in their French Bulldogs; therefore, Insurance is a must in case your puppy eventually expresses a soft palate or additional respiratory surgeries
Do you sell breeding rights to your dogs?
No, we acquire beautiful breeding lines which in most cases we agree to protect in order to procure. We truly appreciate the desire to breed but this decision to withhold breeding rights keeps things far less stressful and difficult for us.
Which colors are not accepted by the AKC?
Blue, Chocolate, Lilac, Platinum, Black and Tan, Merle, pure white and pure black and Furry Frenchies
What are common surgeries in French Bulldogs?
While most of our puppies do not require surgery, common surgeries are nostril surgery, to open up the breathing passage. This is not an expensive surgery but should be done with the spay and neuter of your dog. Palate surgery can also be common, but this is no longer an inexpensive surgery and is being pushed to specialists. Far less common surgeries would be Patella (knee cap)
Do you sell color French Bulldogs?
No, all of our breeding lines are standard only and can be shown in sanctioned AKC events.
Are Merles purebred?
No, Merle has never been a coat tone to naturally occur in the French Bulldog, these are not purebreds, any Merles with AKC papers were “hung”, which means they were fraudulently papered to get an AKC certification. Merles coats were achieved by outcrossing other breeds like the chihuahua.
Do French Bulldogs have bad spines?
This is where it’s really important to have a good breeder. Breeding parents should have spines evaluated, and pairing should be determined by the amount of hemiverts present. If paired responsibly, your Frenchie should have no issues, HOWEVER, you should have steps or ramps up to your bed and furniture as even the best-bred Frenchie's can still pull muscles with crazy jumps or falls.
Why don’t you sell non AKC color Bulldogs such as popular colors like Blue?
Non-standard color French Bulldogs can have more health issues, but this is not the case in all. We feel this breed has enough on its plate as it is without adding more issues for a coat tone.
